Three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano may be racing this weekend at historic Darlington (S.C.) Raceway but he’s taking a side trip today to help open a new car wash.
Logano will make an appearance at the Hang 10 Car Wash location in Summerville, S.C., at 4 p.m. ET today (April 4) as part of the site’s grand opening festivities.
Logano, who drives the No. 22 Pennzoil Ford for Team Penske, has won two of the last four Cup series titles, with his first championship coming in the 2018 season.
Logano, an investor in Hang 10, posted a video Thursday on his social media channels promoting his visit.
“If you live in the Carolinas right now, you understand the pollen is absolutely ridiculous,” he said. “But Hang 10 Car Wash has it figured out for you.”
Logano will take part in a meet-and-greet with fans in the parking lot of the location, at 1905 Old Trolley Road. Only the first 250 people in line will receive wristbands to get autographs and pictures with the reigning Cup champion.
Logano’s No. 22 Pennzoil Ford Mustang will also be on site, and anyone will be able to take pictures with the car. Hang 10 also plans several giveaways and the chance to sign up for free car washes.
Hang 10 Car Wash has a partnership with Logano’s Joey Logano Foundation, a nonprofit charity with a mission to invest in organizations offering second chances to children and young adults during times of crisis.
Since 2013, the Joey Logano Foundation has invested over $4 million in various organizations across the country and impacted more than 250,000 children and young adults in need.
Last June, Logano made an appearance at the grand opening of a Hang 10 location in Winchester, Va., and the site presented him with a $5,000 check for the Joey Logano Foundation.
During the 2023 NASCAR season, Logano entered the Craftsman Truck Series race at the Bristol (Tenn.) Dirt Track with ThorSport Racing in a No. 66 Ford sponsored by Hang 10 Car Wash.
Logano dominated the race and came away with the victory, his second win in just nine appearances in the series.
Hang 10 Car Wash, founded in 2023, has 12 sites across Virginia, New Jersey, Florida and South Carolina, with 11 more in development, according to Car Wash Advisory.
