Tommy’s Express Car Wash in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is hosting a community fundraiser on Saturday to celebrate the site’s one-year anniversary.
The site, at 2920 Scottsville Rd. in Bowling Green, will host a “birthday party” between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine) which includes a fundraiser for the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society.
BGWCHS is a nonprofit organization that serves the South Central Kentucky area with compassion and respect for animals and people.
During the celebration, Tommy’s Express will donate proceeds from every wash to the Humane Society.
In addition, the site will also accept donations for other items on the Humane Society’s wish list. Those include Purina kitten chow, kitten and puppy formula, non-clumping car litter, soft cat food, bleach, liquid laundry detergent, copy paper, small pet beds and pet toys.
“My assistant site leader Matthew and I both are very big on giving back … so it’s one big ability, one big desire to give back to this community,” general manager Justin Hubbard told News 40 WNKY.
“It’s a huge opportunity for us to let the community know that we’re not just here to provide our services, but we’re here to support the community as well.”
Also on hand for the celebration will be Creekside Market & BBQ and Bryanna Ice Cream, which will offer snacks. Roscoe, the mascot from the Bowling Green Hot Rods minor league baseball team, will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon.
There will be treats available for any customers who elect to bring their pet with them.
Members will be able to spin to win prizes and there will be raffle giveaways including free “Works” memberships and Bowling Green Hot Rod tickets.
Anyone who signs up for a “Works” membership on Saturday will receive the first month of their membership for free. Free ice cream or detail kit will be available for anyone who purchases a “Works” car wash as well.
