Autobell Car Wash recently celebrated the completion of a renovation of its longtime site in Monroe, North Carolina, just outside of Charlotte.
The site, located at 536 Morgan Mill Rd. in Monroe near the intersection of bust U.S. Highway 74 originally opened in 1981.
The renovation, which included several site enhancements, took just under a month and the site was closed during that time.
“With significant refurbishment and enhancements to the car wash structure and lot, including upgraded tunnel equipment and permanent vacuum stations, Autobell customers are now enjoying better traffic flow and faster service, as well as the performance of updated equipment and technology,” Monty Rast, Autobell Vice President of Operations, said in a statement.
Rast sang the praises of Union County (North Carolina) companies Purser Electrical, Vince Atkins Painting, and Baker Demolition, as well as the City of Monroe Energy Services, city manager Mark Watson, the city planning department, and all those involved in getting the renovation project completed.
“This improvement project was completed in just 25 days,” Rast said. “The fantastic work by local contractors combined with great cooperation from municipal officials resulted in one of the best renovation projects we’ve ever experienced.
“The city really showed they value businesses that invest in the community.”
The Monroe Autobell store has nine full-time and 10 part-time team members.
Founded in 1969 by the late Charles Howard Sr., Charlotte, N.C.-based Autobell Car Wash is privately held and operated by subsequent generations of the Howard family.
Autobell features a conveyor-belt car wash along with a range of exterior and interior cleaning and finishing services. The company currently operates 91 locations in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, with continued expansion.
