A successful car wash owner and former Wall Street executive appears set to lead a strategic office within the U.S. Department of Energy as part of President Donald Trump’s new administration.

Geoffrey Jervis, co-founder and former CEO of Mint Eco Car Wash will take over as the new director of the DOE’s Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains, multiple sources have confirmed to Car Wash Daily News.

While the DOE has not immediately responded to a request for comment nor issued a press release on Jervis’ appointment, he is listed in the DOE’s registry as the department’s director.

In addition, sources confirmed to Car Wash Daily News that Jervis has relinquished his role as CEO at Mint Eco Car Wash and will be replaced by Duncan Davis, who has served as the company’s COO.

The Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains was created in 2022 and protects America’s energy manufacturing deployment and supply chain security through $20 billion of direct investments in manufacturing capacity and workforce development.

The MESC’s mission is to enhance economic and national security by eliminating vulnerabilities in the country’s energy supply chains.

The office is currently funding more than 375 projects focused on workforce training and manufacturing expansion, including battery materials processing, industrial training, energy manufacturing and recycling and heat pump production.

Jervis, 53, co-founded Mint Eco Car Wash in 2019, with the company’s first location in West Palm Beach, Fla. It now has five sites in operation with five more in development.

“Mint Eco is a cultural experiment based upon subordinating self-interest to the interests of the organization,” Jervis said after being named 2022 Small Business Person of the Year by the Chamber of the Palm Beaches. “What I have seen during my career is that organizations get it wrong.

“What they lack is trust: that everyone in the organization is not only working towards a common goal, but that everyone is willing to subordinate their own self-interests to those of the organization, and, when necessary, to the other members of the team. This is what we are trying to do here at Mint Eco. Not as individuals, but as a team.”

Mint Eco has a track record of popularity in Palm Beach County, Florida, being awarded “Best Car Wash and Detail Center” in both 2022 and 2023 by readers as well as finishing as a top three finalist in last year’s competition for “Best Eco-Friendly Business.”

Jervis has served as a professor of management at Palm Beach Atlantic University, served as CFO at iStar, STAG Industrial Inc., The Blackstone Group and Capital Trust. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the Columbia Business School.
