Car washes have become innovative at promotions and holidays often bring out some of the most creative offers for customers.

This year’s Independence Day holiday is no exception, although some car washes have elected to close early – or for the day – to give time off for their employees to spend time with their friends and families.

We came across a pair of interesting promotions for the holiday – one a little more typical of the holiday than the other.

Honoring military personnel

Eagle Auto Wash & Detailing Salon in Topeka, Kansas, is using the holiday to honor America’s veterans and active military personnel.

The car wash is offering free a free full-service wash today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT to anyone who is serving or has served in the United States military. In addition, military personnel can also receive a 20 percent discount on annual Unlimited Wash passes if purchased today.

To receive the free full-service wash for a car, SUV, pickup, van, or receive the discount on an annual Unlimited Wash pass, veterans or active military personnel must show their current U.S. Service Identification Card, U.S. Service Retired Identification, or Veterans Organization Card to the cashier.

Full-service washes include a high-pressure spray exterior wash; soft cloth cleaning & buffing (or touch free cleaning); underbody flush; wiping off dash; emptying ashtrays; vacuuming seats, floors, and mats; cleaning windows inside and out and full drying.

Goldfish, anyone?

This week, Campbell’s Snacks is introducing the “Goldfish Retrieval Service,” a fun spin on a car wash that also cleans up any spilled Goldfish snacks and then replenishes them for those traveling on the holiday.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET today, customers can stop by the Valet Car Wash located at 551 Route 72 in Stafford Township, New Jersey, for a free car cleaning – which consists of an orange, sudsy exterior wash and interior vacuuming of any mess, especially Goldfish, left behind.

While waiting for the vehicle cleaning to finish, visitors can create a custom mix of Goldfish cheese snacks at the “Goldfish Mixing Station” and fill a reusable jar of the flavorful crackers to enjoy, for free.

Available are 15 different flavors of Goldfish, including the new ‘Awesome Sauce’ and ‘Spicy Dill Pickle’ crackers.

Also available is a limited-edition Goldfish ‘Camouflaging Car Mats,’ available online at goldfishretrievalservice.com. Each mat is $20 and each order comes with a free box of the new Goldfish Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar Summer Multipacks.
