A premium flexible car wash in McKinney, Texas, has filed for bankruptcy less than two years in operation.
According to documents filed to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Texas (Sherman), Oasis Auto Spa LLC filed a voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition on Jan. 31.
The parent company of the McKinney car wash is located in Allen, Texas. The facility opened last June and is locally owned by Frank and Bobbie Brooks.
Judge Brenda T. Rhoades has been assigned to the case.
In the filing, Oasis Auto Spa LLC lists under 50 creditors, with assets between $1-$10 million and liabilities between $1-$10 million. The company was incorporated on May 26, 2020, according to Texas Secretary of State records.
The company indicated on its bankruptcy petition that it does not expect there will be sufficient assets in the estate to make a payment to the unsecured creditors.
A request for comment sent to the company’s attorney listed in the petition was not immediately returned.
Oasis Auto Spa Oasis Auto Spa opened in McKinney on June 1, according to a representative of the business.
The car wash has 20 vacuum bays and three pay lanes with one lane reserved for VIP members. The flex-service car wash offers both express exterior washes as well as full-service interior services, utilizing “hush whisper brushes” for a quieter car wash experience,
The business also offers indoor and outdoor waiting areas with amenities as well as a dog wash.
In a sponsored advertising post published by Community Impact, co-owner Bobbie Brooks said Oasis Auto Spa was designed to be customer centric.
“We noticed that the car wash industry had moved towards a self-service, express model where the customer does most of the hard work. We wanted to change that paradigm and bring back true customer service with a smile,” she said.
“We wanted to create a car wash with a spa-like feel, a true oasis in the city.”
